Whenever the calendar flips to August, I get a warm glow inside…and it has nothing to do with the hot, sticky weather outside. Way back in August 2012, we held our first 30min tweetchat. In my wildest dreams I never thought we would still be here 7 years later, still going strong.
As we enter our 8th year of HCLDR, I find that many people in the healthcare community are asking questions about our origins and about the value that’s been derived from/by the community that has grown up around the weekly chat. Since we’re in the middle of vacation season (myself included), I thought it would be a great opportunity tonight to discuss HCLDR.
I must admit I have an ulterior motive. This fall, I will be at a number of healthcare conferences and I’m fairly certain I will be asked questions about the community. I would dearly love to have some recent comments and data from all of you.
So tonight’s chat will be on an “easy” topic – the HCLDR community itself. Specifically I would love to hear from all of you the impact this community has had on your personally or on your career, the value you see in being part of the chats each week and where we go from here.
I realize that this is a topic that we’ve covered before on HCLDR, but I believe it is healthy and helpful to reflect and discuss our community on a regular basis so that we can continue to grow together.

Neither of us take HCLDR for granted and we view ourselves as custodians of the community vs people running the community.
